The Devil’s Departure

 Jamma Mokhriby

Without debate, the most fascinating book to be found upon the earth is the Holy Bible. The grandeur of its revelations relegates every other written text to the shadow of its magnificence.
For an example we are shown the hidden supernatural truths concerning Satan, the father of evil. Writers have long used him in their scripts as a fictional being. They oftentimes make him out to be sensible, congenial, and honorable when striking some kind of deal for a soul. On occasion he is even portrayed as having an exceptionally good sense of humor. When the demand for greater horror is needed in a story, out comes the conveniently wicked Devil.
Some religions will present Satan as an evil force of some kind while others will generally portray him as a diabolical entity with no information as to his origin or eventual fate.
The Bible, on the other hand, reveals detailed information about both his beginning and final destiny. The Word of God makes it clear that Lucifer, as he was once known, is a living, spiritual being.
There is not one word of praise given to him by God after the description of his fall in Isaiah 14:12-14. We know by this passage that in the ages long past, Lucifer and the angelic host of heaven were created with a freewill.
There is no point in debating the circular arguments concerning the composition and eternal decisions God ordained when granting angels, and then men, the freewill to choose for or against Him.
That God has decided that the earth should revolve in a certain direction, that the sky would appear blue, that fruits should contain vitamins, bees would make honey, and why one flower smells one way and another different are demonstrations that creation and how it will be is His alone.
We are “limited” beings of His creation in countless applications of the word. We can imagine in frustration and hostility that we can know and understand everything, but the truth is we are finite and can’t. That is why God has told us things that we can know, but not understand (that is not without faith) in His holy and perfect intentions.
Freewill and the consequences of our choices are real and this we can know. Full comprehension of why God has decided to make these realities a part of His work of creation is beyond the ken of a finite being.
We do know by God’s Word that in the end there will be those who chose rightly and will go onto live with Him forever in His perfected creation with the fullness of understanding of beings that have transcended their finite lives.
Then there will be Satan and those who follow his course of rebellion against God. These will depart forever from God’s presence in the place of fire and darkness.
Only if God had not warned of this consequence and granted the true ability to choose could anyone question the fairness and validity of having created creatures with a freewill.
Satan has made his eternal choice according to the Word of God, but for now he is active and committed to do all the evil he is capable of in the dwindling time he has remaining.
In II Timothy Ch. 4 we are told that a time would come when sound doctrine would no longer be endured, but instead the desire would be to turn to fables.
Over a 3-day period from Mar. 23rd to Mr. 25th, back in 1997, a man with the appearance of a lamb, but who had the heart of a destroyer led 39 people to take their lives over one such fable.
Marshall Applewhite convinced his followers that a spaceship was accompanying the Hale-Bopp comet and that after killing themselves they would receive new, resurrected bodies after 3 ½ days. They were to then be caught up to join their space brother on an alien spacecraft.
In Ephesians 6:11-12 we are called to put on the whole armor of God so that we may be, “able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of the age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Those who are enlightened by the Word of God know that the power behind such an unassuming man like Marshall Applewhite or a despot like Jim Jones, was the most evil adversary and destroyer of mankind the world will ever know. He is the being called Satan.
Satan means “adversary” and the name “devil” means “disrupter.” In the Greek he is called “Diaballo” which is composed of two words meaning “among to throw.”
To its eternal peril, this is the being the world chooses to think of as a myth and whom even believers in Jesus Christ tend to downplay in the unfolding of end time events.
It has been prophesied in the Book of Revelation that the Devil will increase in authority and power as this age comes to a close.
At present he is permitted limited access to the heavens and will one day soon be restricted to confinement among men on earth (Rev. 12:12-13). The Scriptures declare at that point, “Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows he has a short time.”
This is the so-called heavenly space brother who was calling Marshall Applewhite and his followers to a new level of existence. It is he, Diaballo, who is devoted to throwing mankind off track from finding the truth. He is the Devil, the disrupter of life.
The special hatred that the old dragon Satan has against Israel is well documented in both the Old and New Testament. This is because it was through Israel God promised and brought forth His Son Jesus Christ who is the Savior and Redeemer of mankind. It will be through Israel that the world will be blessed as Jesus the Messiah rules out of Jerusalem for a thousand years while Satan is bound in the bottomless pit (Rev. 20:1-3, Zech. 14:16-20 & Ezek. 39:25-29, 43:4 47:1-14).
We believe one of the Devil’s future strategies for attacking the revelations of God concerning the church and Israel can be discerned in the Applewhite UFO cult suicides.
Christians who speak biblically of the Rapture (which entails being caught up to heaven, see I Thess. 4:15-18), resurrections and “not being of this world” are already being looked upon as not only aberrant, but even dangerous.
During the days following the suicides, news reports advocated investigating all the various computer web sites that promoted such views. Needless to say, Christian outreaches were primary targets for such investigations because of their quote, “potentially dangerous influence.”
Turning to Revelation 11:11-12 we find where God’s two last day prophets are to be murdered and will lie in the streets of Jerusalem for 3 ½ days before they are resurrected and called up to Heaven.
One can scarcely imagine the mocking and persecution believers will endure in the future when they try to share this Divine revelation from the Bible in Israel and how the two prophets could be viewed with reminiscence of Applewhite and his UFO cult.
Satan knows that the time of the Rapture and the arrival of God’s two prophets in Jerusalem must be very near.
There are countless individuals and groups waiting for extraterrestrials to appear. Heavenly visitations such as the angels calling out to the earth in Rev. 14 and the appearance of Christ and the host of Heaven in Rev. 19 returning at the Battle of Armageddon could very well be believed by many to be disastrous UFO expectations come true. The Devil’s preparations for his final days are evident in every way imaginable.
What a blessing of peace of mind for those who know the truth and look forward to that glorious day when the righteousness of God will reign supreme.
One day soon, according to the Scriptures found in Rev. 12:7, 8 & 12, the Devil will no longer be seen in the heavenlies and those who dwell there (which would include the Raptured saints) will rejoice with exceedingly great joy when they witness his banishment.
According to verse 10 it is at this mid-point of the tribulation that the day of the Lord is initiated and Christ begins to reign.
After Satan’s 3½ year confinement upon the earth during the Great Tribulation, he is to be bound for 1,000 years. He will then be loosed one last time according to Rev. 20:7 & 10 for a short season, only to then at last join the Anti-Christ and the false prophet in the Lake of Fire where they had been cast 1,000 years earlier (Rev. 19:20).
There, forever more, Diaballo who was “among to throw” will remain eternally banished from the glorious, eternal, new creation of God...”Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold I make all things new” (Rev. 21:5).
Today is the day to put your faith in the Risen Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and to open your heart to the faithful and true words of God who “sent His angel to show His servants which must shortly take place” (Rev. 22:6).
If you would like some free information which more thoroughly explains how and why Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for the sins of the world with His own precious blood then write and ask for “God’s Plan for Salvation.”

Rapture Watch is an independent, non-denominational, Christian outreach which believes in the inerrant and infallible Word of God as recorded in the original language of the Scriptures.

We unwaveringly believe that faith in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of one’s sins is the only way God has provided for salvation and that once a person is truly born again by the Holy Spirit they are irreversibly, eternally redeemed.

By God’s declaration in II Peter 3:9, that He is “...not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance,” we accept and teach that no person was ever created by God without the genuine freewill to make a decision for or against the salvation He has provided and offered by the love and blood of His only begotten Son Jesus.

The Lord is surely coming again to claim what is His.

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 2:14).
